Dendritic Cells and Macrophages Reunited

The fields of macrophage and dendritic cell biology diverged decades ago and have evolved in a relatively independent fashion with dendritic cell meetings devoted to adaptive immune responses while macrophage meetings focus on innate immunity. This meeting reunites the two communities of scientists and is equally divided between sessions dedicated to basic biology and sessions dedicated to the importance of these cells in pathology including allergy, autoimmunity, cancer and infectious disease. Human disease is emphasized as this meeting is intended to educate physician-scientists, both trained and in training.
